3 Books that Supported My Spiritual Journey (with Excerpts!)
I read this book so much that the cover fell off. This is an easy read and yet, EVERY SINGLE PAGE is full of gems that help you become the best version of yourself. This book helped me deal with attachment issues, anxiety and depression, uncertainty, toxic people, and so much more. This book even helped me lean more into my purpose, as opposed to working against it. I highly suggest this book as a read for anyone that is new to spirituality. There are more books in this series -- I'll be checking them out and reporting back. ;)
Excerpt: If one area of your life is stuck, unhappy, or doesn't work, it will affect every other area of your life. It will no longer work to ignore those areas of your life you do not want to deal with. If you don't like your job, are having trouble with a relationship, or live in an unsupportive environment, that will dampen your aliveness in every other area. Here's an extended excerpt.
This book is inspiring, yeah, but genuinely a good read. It follows the quest of a shepherd boy searching for treasure in a foreign land. Along the way, little dude drops/discovers a bunch of wise gems that get sprinkled throughout each chapter. This book is relevant to anyone seeking wisdom regarding their life path, following their dreams, etc.
A lot of spiritual books are straight forward and...kinda boring. I loved that this was a narrative with interesting characters, an inspiring plot, and lots of motivating poetic quotes within the dialogue. If you don't believe me, believe the millions of people that have purchased this book -- it's hella popular.
Here's an amazing excerpt: Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second's encounter with God and with eternity. Read more here.
This book is from like the 1930s and yet the teachings are valuable to ANY time period. The author teaches that simply using the expression "I AM," helps us embody the power of God/Higher Selves inside of us. He helps readers manage this understanding, while dealing with the chaos of our world. I'm all about "I AM" affirmations, so this book truly resonates with my being. I'm only a 1/3 of the way through this book and am already using the teachings from this text to truly embody my inner goddess. It's definitely a tougher read, but you can get through it.
I hope you guys enjoy these reads and feel free to comment which books are helping you.
